Amazon Brand Registry Report Rejected: Next Steps

Diagnose rights, seller, product and evidence gaps before resubmitting a rejected Amazon Brand Registry report with a stronger evidence file.

3 min read

Preserve the exact rejection

Save the original report, selected allegation, submitted ASINs or sellers, right information, exhibits, report ID and complete response. A short status label is not enough; the original field choices help reveal why the report did not match the evidence.

Do not immediately change from trademark to counterfeit or copyright simply to obtain a different review. First determine what the record actually supports.

Audit four common evidence layers

A strong layer cannot replace a missing one. For example, a valid trademark registration does not connect a disputed physical unit to a particular seller.

  • Authority: the reporter can act for the recorded rights owner
  • Right: the registration covers the marketplace, product and alleged use
  • Target: seller ID, offer, ASIN and URL identify the correct conduct
  • Proof: screenshots, test buy or source files demonstrate the stated issue

Rebuild the report around one allegation

Write one sentence describing the challenged conduct, right and requested action. Attach only exhibits that prove those elements and label them clearly. If the problem is catalog accuracy rather than infringement, use the correction route instead.

Resolve inconsistent brand names, entity names, dates and identifiers before resubmission. Explain legitimate differences with supporting records.

Escalate with a visible new basis

If an available escalation is appropriate, state what the earlier response missed and point to the corrected or newly supplied evidence. Preserve the full history so later submissions remain consistent.
