Build a field and source timeline

Choose one affected field, such as brand, title, image, dimensions or category. Record each observed value, submission time, batch or case ID, acceptance result and time the value changed again.

Repeat this for the relevant marketplace, parent and child ASINs. A value may appear fixed in the editor while another catalog surface still holds the conflicting contribution.

Inventory every authorized contributor

Pause scheduled sources where operationally safe and compare the timing of each overwrite. Do not assume an unknown third-party seller is responsible when an old authorized feed can explain the pattern.

  • Seller Central manual edits and category templates
  • Inventory, ERP, feed and API integrations
  • Agencies, employees and connected account users
  • Brand Registry catalog submissions
  • Parent, merged or regional ASIN relationships

Establish one source-of-truth value

Use the physical product, packaging, manufacturer and identifier records to define the accurate value. Correct it in the primary system and remove stale submissions from other authorized sources.

For external catalog contributions, submit a field-level case showing current value, requested value, product evidence and the history of the accepted correction.

Monitor for stable acceptance

Check the public page, editor, processing reports, search display and variations over several update cycles. Preserve the final source configuration and case history so a recurrence can be diagnosed quickly.
