Amazon Section 3 Suspension: Evidence and Appeal Strategy

How to scope a Section 3 notice, map the account relationships and organize documents without relying on a generic reinstatement template.

Section 3 is a starting point, not a diagnosis

A notice that references Section 3 can involve different concerns, including verification, account relationships, risk signals or conduct Amazon believes requires review. Do not assume another seller's successful appeal reveals the cause of your case.

Copy the operative wording from your notice into a case sheet. Record every account, person, entity, marketplace and deadline named or implied by the request.

Create an account relationship map

List the legal entity, beneficial owners, directors, employees, contractors and service providers who can access or influence the account. Add known historical seller accounts, shared business addresses, contact details, financial instruments and devices only when they are relevant to the notice.

The goal is not to overwhelm the reviewer with personal data. It is to identify which relationships are legitimate, which are historical, which are incorrect and which still need investigation.

  • Current and former ownership or management relationships
  • Authorized users and the business reason for their access
  • Related companies, agencies or service providers
  • Shared operational details that can be documented and explained

Match documents to individual claims

Business registration, identity, address, bank, tax, supplier and authorization documents each prove different things. Create an evidence table with three columns: the statement made in the appeal, the supporting document and the exact field or page that proves it.

Check that transliterations, legal suffixes, dates and addresses are consistent. If a legitimate difference exists, explain it directly instead of leaving the reviewer to guess.

Write a factual explanation

Open with the account and notice being addressed. Explain the relevant relationship or event in chronological order, identify the verified cause, describe the actions already completed and state the controls now in place.

Avoid emotional arguments, guarantees, copied language and absolute denials that the documents cannot support. A concise explanation with traceable proof is stronger than a long statement that introduces new uncertainty.

Audit the final package

Use one filename convention and remove duplicates. Check every attachment is legible, current and connected to a sentence in the response. Preserve the submitted version and confirmation details so any future reply can be compared accurately.

If the notice asks for specific information, answer that request before adding background. A response that misses the requested evidence may be rejected even when the surrounding narrative is polished.
